Biography

Steven B. Lowen was born in New York City, and is a citizen of the U.S.A. He is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, and a member of the Brain Imaging Center and the Behavioral Psychopharmacology Research Laboratory, both at McLean Hospital. Previously, he was a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University from 1996 to 1999, and an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University from 1992 to 1996. He received the BSEE magna cum laude from Yale University in 1984, and the MSEE and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University in 1988 and 1992, respectively. Dr. Lowen was awarded the Armstrong Memorial Prize from Columbia University in 1988 and received a Joint Services Electronics Program Fellowship in 1990. In 1994 and 1999, he was awarded Whitaker Foundation Biomedical research grants. He is a member of Sigma Xi and Tau Beta Pi . Dr. Lowen has authored or co-authored a number of Technical Publications.
